Tips for Tent Camping

Tent camping

Tent campingTent camping has been around for eons and, contrary to what some may believe, is just as popular now as it was in years gone by. Most tent campers fall into two types of campers. Either they are just beginning their camping adventures or they are true camping enthusiast who are in it for the back-to-nature experience.

For the new campers, we offer a few tips to make your experience as great as it can be. Keep these in mind and you’ll enjoy many happy camping excursions and life-long memories that come with that.

Practice
Whenever you get a new tent you should practice setting it up at home. You will save yourself a lot of frustration if you do this a few times and really know your way around your tent by the time you get to the campground. And, you may find you want to create a few hacks for your setup and this will allow you time to do so.

Arrive Early
You’ll be off to a much better start if you arrive and set up in daylight. It is so much easier to set up than when it’s dark and you are working by the light of a lantern.

Maintenance
Good maintenance means a long and happy life for your camping gear. Try to keep it out of the sun for long periods of time and be sure it is good and dry before you pack it away. Check it often for rips or punctures and repair them right away.

Tarps
A tarp is the swiss army knife of camping because you will find so many uses for it. A good tarp can protect you from the cold or wet earth and keep the rain off you when tossed over the top of your tent. It can shade you or capture dirt before you enter your tent space. A tarp is very useful so carrying one or two will benefit you in ways that may surprise you.

Tidy Up
Keeping your area clean will also help you to access the things you need, when you need them. Pick clothes and towels up off the floor each day and shake them out. It will remove any sand they may be harboring and also any unwanted visitors to your tent.

There you go, you should now be well prepared to have a memorable experience with your friends and family while tent camping. It’s a lot of fun and we look forward to meeting you when you arrive here at Whispering Oaks RV Park.
